Many people use the new year as a time to set new goals and refocus priorities. As your eye doctor, we couldn’t wish for better resolutions than a year of safe and healthy vision. Try adding these to your plan for 2019:

  • Replace and care for contact lenses as prescribed and make it a point to go to all office visits and exams
  • Wear safety goggles when working around the house and while playing sports – that is when most eye injuries occur
  • Eat a diet rich in antioxidants (green, leafy vegetables for sure) that studies have shown may prevent and reduce the effects of retinal disease
  • Have an eye health and vision examination every year to ensure that your eyes are healthy and you are seeing your best – many eye diseases begin without noticeable symptoms but are much more successfully treated if diagnosed early
